You may order books by three methods: SUNY Press's e-commerce system,
phone or fax.
1. E-commerce
As you browse the site, click the "add to cart" button below or next
to individual book titles. This action will place the selected item in a
shopping cart, which will hold the contents of the order until you are ready to
check out. At any time, you may click the "cart" link at the top
right of your screen to see the items currently in your shopping cart. When you
are ready to finalize your order, click the "checkout" link from
either your shopping cart screen, or from the link at the top right of your
screen and you will be taken to a page that will allow you to enter the
appropriate shipping and billing information. All transactions through this
site are secure, and your information is encrypted. For more information see: (Security

To find out the status of an order placed through this site, contact the
fulfillment center using the information supplied below. Please be sure to

Books may be returned to the address listed below without prior permission as
long as they are in new, resalable condition (no marks or stickers), and
currently in print. Out of print titles may be returned for six months after
the OP(out of print) date. The customer making the return must be the original
purchaser of the returned books. Returns should be accompanied by a packing
list indicating quantity, discount received, and original CUP Services invoice
number. If no original invoice information is provided, credit will be issued
at the maximum trade discount allowable. Claims for damages, defects,
shortages, and shipping errors must be made within 30 days of ship date.

Common Questions
Are my credit card transactions secure?
Your credit card and billing information cannot be read as it travels to our
ordering system. To ensure that your information is even more secure, once we
receive your credit card information, we store it on a server that isn't
accessible from the Internet. Credit card transactions are handled by a
third-party financial institution, which receives the credit card number and
other personal identifying information only to verify the credit card numbers
and process transactions. If you feel more comfortable doing so, you are
welcome to call in your credit card information and complete your purchase by

What are cookies, and how does this site use them?
"Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser
on your computer's hard drive. Our site uses cookies to speed navigation and to keep
track of items in your shopping cart (you will not be able to order through the

Domestic & Canada:
$5 for the first book and $1 for each additional book. Foreign: add $5.50 (US) for first book, $2 for each additional book.
• New York State residents, please add 8% sales tax to the total amount (books + shipping).
• Canadian residents, please add 7% GST.
All CUP Services shipments are FOB Ithaca, New York. Preferred carriers are UPS
and FedEx for orders shipped to the USA/Canada, and USPS ISAL (or equivalent)
for international orders.
To place an item in your "shopping cart" simply click the "add to cart" button
next to or below the selected title. That item will be placed into your cart,
and you will be directed to the page that allows you to view the contents of
your cart and either proceed to the checkout page, or to continue shopping.
At any point during your visit to our site you may check the upper right hand
portion of the page to see a subtotal for the items that are currently in your
cart. There are also two links next to the subtotal. The "cart" link
will take you to the page that allows you to view and modify the contents of
the cart, and the checkout link will take you to a page that allows you to
place your order and purchase those items that are in your cart.
